Our Roofline Services — Guttering, Fascias, Dry Verge & More

Everything above the brickwork and below the tiles. Eight services covering Wolverhampton and a 25-mile radius across the West Midlands — every one of them free to come out and price up.

Gutter Replacement

Sagging, split or overflowing gutters are the fastest route to damp walls and rotten timber. We strip the old system out completely, check the fascia behind it, and fit a new UPVC gutter run on properly spaced brackets with the correct fall so water actually goes where it should.

  • Old guttering and downpipes removed and taken away
  • Brackets re-set to the correct fall — no more standing water
  • Square, round, ogee and deepflow profiles in black, white, brown and anthracite
  • Downpipes run to existing gullies or new soakaways

Fascia & Soffit Replacement

Fascias and soffits are what keep weather out of the roof structure. Once they start to rot or flake, the damage moves inwards fast. We replace the boards with maintenance-free UPVC, vent the soffit correctly so the loft can breathe, and finish the joints so the roofline looks sharp from the ground.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Rotten timber cut out and replaced, not just capped over
  • Ventilated soffit boards to keep the roof void dry
  • Colour-matched to your guttering and windows
  • Scaffold or tower access arranged where the job needs it

Dry Verge Installation

Mortar verges have a shelf life. Once the pointing cracks, wind gets under the edge tiles and they end up in the garden. A dry verge system clips and screws each verge unit to the batten instead — a mechanical fix that will not wash out, and one that carries a proper manufacturer guarantee.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Old mortar bedding raked out and disposed of
  • Continuous or unit dry verge fitted to the batten
  • Matching end caps and ridge closures
  • Available in black, brown, grey and terracotta

Dry Ridge Tile Pointing

Since 2015 the British Standard has expected ridge and hip tiles to be mechanically fixed. A dry ridge system uses a ventilated roll and screwed ridge clamps, so every tile is held down individually — no mortar to crack, and the roof gets high-level ventilation into the bargain.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Ridge tiles lifted, cleaned and re-bedded on a dry ridge roll
  • Every tile mechanically screw-fixed to the ridge batten
  • Ventilated roll improves airflow through the loft
  • Compliant with BS 5534 fixing requirements

Ridge Tile Pointing

Not every roof needs a full dry ridge conversion. Where the tiles themselves are sound, re-pointing is the sensible, cost-effective fix — we rake out the failed mortar, re-bed anything loose and point up with a strong weather-struck mix that sheds water rather than holding it.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Loose or slipped ridge tiles re-bedded
  • Failed mortar raked out to a sound depth
  • Weather-struck pointing for proper water run-off
  • Honest advice on whether pointing or dry ridge is the better spend

Eaves Protection

The felt at the bottom edge of a roof is the first thing to perish. Once it splits, rain runs behind the gutter and straight onto the wall plate. Eaves protection trays support the felt over the gutter and give it a rigid, rot-proof lip to discharge from — a small job that saves a very expensive one.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Rigid eaves trays fitted under the bottom course of tiles
  • Perished felt supported and extended into the gutter
  • Stops water tracking back onto the wall plate
  • Usually fitted alongside fascia and guttering work

Roofline Cleaning

Blocked gutters are the most common cause of damp we get called out to, and green-streaked soffits make a good house look tired. We clear the whole run out, flush the downpipes through, and wash the fascias, soffits and cladding down so the roofline looks like it did the day it went on.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Gutters cleared by hand and flushed through
  • Downpipes rodded and checked for free flow
  • Fascias, soffits and cladding washed down
  • All debris bagged and taken away — no mess left behind

UPVC Cladding

Cladding a gable, dormer or the whole front elevation is the single biggest visual change you can make to a house without touching the brickwork. UPVC shiplap needs no painting, will not rot, and goes on over a treated batten frame so the wall behind it stays ventilated.

Quote on request — free to price up

  • Gables, dormers, porches and full elevations
  • Shiplap and open-V profiles in a full colour range
  • Fitted on a treated batten frame with ventilation retained
  • Anthracite, black, white, cream, oak and rosewood finishes

Questions

Fascia & Guttering Questions We Get Asked

How much does gutter replacement cost in Wolverhampton?

The cost of gutter replacement in Wolverhampton depends on the size of the property, the type of guttering system chosen, and the amount of work involved. LDF Fascia & Guttering offer free, no-obligation quotes — simply get in touch and Luke or Carl will come out to assess the job and give you a fair, transparent price.

Do you replace fascias and soffits in the West Midlands?

Yes — fascia and soffit replacement is one of our most popular services across Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. We supply and fit new UPVC fascias and soffits that protect your roofline timber from rot and give your home a clean, modern finish that lasts.

What is a dry verge system and do I need one?

A dry verge system replaces old mortar verges at the edge of your roof with mechanically fixed UPVC units. Unlike traditional mortar, dry verge systems won’t crack, crumble or fall away over time — making them a much longer-lasting and lower-maintenance solution. If your current verge tiles are loose or the mortar is crumbling, a dry verge installation is well worth considering.

Can you replace guttering on a terraced house in Wolverhampton?

Absolutely. We regularly work on terraced properties, semi-detached and detached houses throughout Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. Whether you need one section of guttering replaced or a complete new system fitted, we’ll provide a tailored quote based on your property’s specific requirements.

How long does a fascia and guttering replacement take?

Most standard fascia, soffit and guttering replacements can be completed within one to three days, depending on the size of the property. We’ll always give you a clear start and finish date before work begins — as our reviews show, we stick to our schedule and keep disruption to an absolute minimum.

Do you offer roofline cleaning in the West Midlands?
